ABOUT US

Our mission is to celebrate female excellence by spotlighting female filmmakers and movies that focus on womanhood. Through our uniquely curated film “playlists”, members are exposed to the stories of trailblazing women who have pushed boundaries and challenged the status quo, whether their impact be personal, local, regional, or international. Through our conversation series, we sit down with women in all areas of the film industry to examine inspirations, motivations, and what it really takes to bring amazing stories to the screen.

She is passionate about watching, creating, and sharing brilliant, intersectional, female-driven films.

LILIANA

Liliana Marmolejo, the Playlist & Social Media Editor of WomenDo, is a comedy writer/screenwriter from Los Angeles (okay, Alhambra). A lifelong film fanatic, she loves everything from mumblecore darlings to studio action epics. She is especially interested in how film and media can be tools for liberation. When she's not frantically typing, Liliana enjoys being a mediocre rollerblader, petting her cats, and crying at the cinema.

LYDIA

Lydia is a senior at Northwestern University studying theatre, political science, and film. Her interests are a bit all over the place, but she finds consistent excitement in works of art and culture that push envelopes. Outside of class, she works with intersectional-feminist theatre, student film, labor rights advocacy, and musical improv. She is thrilled by the intersections of art, activism, and comedy, aiming to blend these three elements into as many facets of her life as possible. She also loves to cook, and never shuts up about the mountains in her hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah.
