FEATURED INTERVIEW
The Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith: Never Rarely Sometimes Always Q&A - Eliza Hittman

Watching this month’s films, we can begin to see the scope of women’s health and healthcare as it is portrayed on-screen. From darkly comedic satires to documentaries firmly planted in truth, each filmmaker sheds a different light on the topic, providing a new “way in” by prompting a unique emotional response. With access to a legal and safe abortion at the center of the playlist, we see five films with five entirely unique perspectives on the subject. It’s an interesting exercise in seeing “voice” in writing and filmmaking, as it leads us to question how filmmakers develop unique, specific stories in response to global issues. This interview with Eliza Hittman, director of Never Rarely Sometimes Always, provides insight into her own creative process, the reason why she had to tell the story, and what it was like to bring her script to life.
