GET INVOLVED

We searched for as many existing stories as we could find about women whose vision and sacrifice increased our visibility, participation, and opportunity in the United States and worldwide.

You can approach the website in 4 ways

1. Create Your Own Playlist

What films would you watch, and in what order, to tell us your experience of the history of women’s empowerment? Share it with us so we can post it here.

2. Host a Movie Night

Join women across the country watching the same film on the last Friday of the month. Invite your community to discuss and share pics and posts about your screening.

3. Bring it to Your Classroom

Introduce the rich and varied history of women to your students using our curated playlists, or by surfing the domains or eras that we have already organized. Invite your students to make their own playlist and share it with us!

4. Join the Conversation

CREATE YOUR OWN PLAYLIST

Create a playlist that shows which films you would want us to watch, and in what order, in order for us to have a better understanding of the history of women’s empowerment through your experiences and curiosities.

Introduce the rich and varied history of women to your students, your children, and your friends using our curated playlists, or by surfing the pre-organized domains and eras. For instance if you are interested in Economic Empowerment, we have a domain for that or we have a curated playlist for that depending on what type of information you are looking for. If you are interested in the 1970s, you can use 1970s as a keyword and it will show you all the media that intersect with that decade.

HOST YOUR OWN MOVIE NIGHT

Here, you can join women across the country in watching the same film on the last Friday of each month, as we post a monthly “Last Friday” screener.  Watch alone and send us your thoughts, or invite your community to discuss and share pics and posts and blog about your screening – the conversations that took place, the feelings that came up, the action steps that might have emerge, the community that was made closer.
