Without equal access to fundamental skills such as reading, writing, and basic math, women world wide cannot compete fully for the economic opportunities in their communities. Women have had to fight to gain access and equality in educational institutions world wide, and here we share stories of how complex access to this fundamental right can be - and the tremendous payoff when women are educated.
The films are organized by the decade the film begins in (as opposed to the decade the film was made) starting in the 1900s until present day. Some films span multiple decades, and we will upgrade these time designations as the website evolves.
